We have been submitting videos for some time. Recently I have been posting more and have added photos.

According to Vitrue‘s research article:

• Image post are more engaging than videos and text
• Posts made before noon get 65% more engagement than posts after noon
• Friday posts generate the most engagement while Saturday and Sunday posts have the least engagement.

I usually post text very early morning and I usually get some ‘likes’ within a couple of minutes. We usually post videos at a later time of the night as those are the times that is available for the media team.

However, I like to think that it is more important to understand who our audience are.

Facebook has a tool that gives you a statistical breakdown of your page visitors and it is available thru Facebook Insights – http://facebook/insights.

For our page, we are getting more interactions from Philippines with roughly 45% of the user base. What I did not know is that majority of the users are female. Roughly 65% of users who like our pages are female, 75% of them are active participants on the page, and 60% are ages between 24 and 44.

While the article study provided by Vitrue may not apply to certain Facebook pages, it is important to understand the basic demographic of your user base and how to engage with them.

Getting in to your sweet spot with them will always depends on the quality of your interactions. Do they want more pictures? Are they more responsive to instructions that will probably benefit them by giving them videos.

The added data provided by Facebook Insights gives us a good indication of the composition of your audience from the standpoint of sex and age. But the value given to your users is more important as that will dictate the growth of your users on your Facebook page.

All of this boils down to is understanding your target audience. Who are you talking to? What kind of value do you provide them to make them better. All of this makes a better conversation and the more you give them, the more they come.

I could not get my files back on the host so I switched GeorgeFiles to my networks.  I’m sure I might take a hit on Google’s index, but I don’t mind.  It’s bound to happen anyways – the complete revamp of GeorgeFiles.com.

So, what should I start with?

Blogging, web 2.0, social media, internet marketing, syndication, computer, image, design, graphics, audo/video, search engine, pay-per-click.  I realized there’s really a lot to talk about in the internet.

As I start fresh with this site, I have another site that I would be revamping as well, IMS101.  I’d like to have that site as a way to teach the basics of internet marketing.  Learn the ropes on IMS101 and take it further yourself.  It’s probably a good 2 weeks to prepare some starting material but I think it should be worth it.  IMS101 is not yet ready and you’ll get a blank site.

I like to get everyone a good perspective of internet marketing so they could take the second step of further progressing with what they want with their own site.  It’s not easy to get a mentor that will lead to the basic steps.

I’m no guru and I don’t know everything.  Google could take that praise.  But get the basics done, engage the potential to get it moving.  Make it happen!

I’m taking the basic design of WordPress for now, TwentyTen, until I get the site to a point where it takes off on its own personality.  Let see what happens.
